Photos From
The 2008 Lost
Dutchman Marathon, Half Marathon,
8K Trail, and 10K
We helped to set a record attendance for this
event. Here are some of the photos from our event.
If you have photos from these events or the other
LD races, feel free to send them to Tony to get posted. We'd like to
thank Mike, Michelle, and Yolanda for providing additional photos from the pasta dinner and
race morning from the half marathon and 10K.
Below are links to an article in The Apache
Junction Gold Canyon News about our presence at the event.
Also, several of our members placed in the events.
 | Ade Olude from Atlanta was third over all in
the marathon. |
 | Tanya Johnson from Rialto, CA placed third in the
45 to 49 year old marathon age group. Tanya and her husband, Marc,
were featured in our
eNewsletter. Marc posted a blog report about the event at
http://gtmfitness.blogspot.com/. |
 | Warren Elzy from Bedford, OH was second in
the 50 to 54 year old half marathon age group. Warren is
President of
Cleveland's Team Marathon. |
 | Francis Gilbert from Cincinnati, OH was first
in the 70 to 74 year old half marathon age group. She's an
active member of
Cincinnati's Avondale Running Club and the recipient of a
special NBMA participation award. |
We'd also like to thank the Avondale Running Club
for making their donation to the scholarship fund.
If anyone was mistakenly left out, please
contact Tony. Again, thanks for your participation and support.

Displaying Race Medals
During the post-race lunch, we
discussed ways to display race medals. After putting them in
drawers, in boxes, on shelves, and wall hooks, I had given up on
displaying them. However, while in The Container Store, I discovered
another way to display them. I purchased a "hanging jewelry holder."
It's designed to hold 40 earrings, necklaces, and other small pieces
on one side. With a strong wall hook or nail, it makes a nice
flexible display case.
