'net. Although I am just
starting to marathon, I would love to run with the group where ever
you decide to go.
Marietta from IL - I am so happy to have stumbled on this
website. Unfortunately,
I had no idea that such an organization existed.
I would really like more information on this so I can get it
out to more Black runners like myself!
Mike from IL - Willing to participate in any marathon, any
location, providing time can be set aside.
Stormy from IL - I applaud your commitment to running and
spreading your passion to others.
Your organization is a great way to get Black children and
adults involved. I look forward to marathoning with the NBMA!

.

Glad to see that your organization
exists. I look forward to sharing my insights regarding
running as well as hearing from
others about their experiences. Please sign me up immediately, and I
look forward to hearing from you.
Milton
from MO - Thanks for
participating in the Lewis and Clark Marathon in
St. Charles
,
Missouri
. If you had not
advertised in their registration section, I would not have known
such an organization existed. My
wife and I have been running marathons for 4 years and it has been a
wonderful experience. We
have met some great African-Americans marathoners and we are looking
forward to meeting more.
Margaret from NJ - Interested in walking a half-marathon.
Thanks.

organization. I will be
at the Cleveland Rite Aid Marathon.
It will be so refreshing to see more people running -
especially when they look like me.
Gillis from OH - I have been running marathons since 1997. My
ultimate goal is to run in all fifty states and all seven continents
before age 65. I
completed marathons in fourteen states already.
Keebler from OH - I am a member of the mighty Avondale Running
Club in
Cincinnati
,
Ohio

organization.
Mary from OH - I'm excited about getting involved with your
organization. I'd also like to help spread the word!
Michele from OH - I didn't know the NBMA exist.
I really want to be a part of this organization.
I love to do marathons and have made it my passion to inform
other AA about health and wellness.
Bev from PA - I am attempting to get myself in shape to run.
It is a goal but I haven't run any races yet.
Pearl
from PA - I have been
overjoyed in knowing NBMA exists. and it was wonderful meeting
several members Plus Charlotte and Tony was very friendly and
welcoming. I told my sister (my own cheerleader) that this is want I
have been looking for a group that shared the love & pain of
running marathons. I watched the group picture being taken and next
time I plan on being in the photo too! Have great day!
Alberta
from TX - Glad to know this group exist..not many of us do
this.........
Anjanette from TX - This is great. My co-workers and I were just
discussing how African-Americans don't do distance running,
especially not the adults. We have too many health problems and
don't address our diet or exercise nearly enough. We're all nurses
at
Parkland
Hospital
and try to encourage other nurses to get into running , at their own
pace and distance to improve their health. I'm new to running, but
my goal is to train up to a marathon.
Michael from TX - Glad I found you guys.
Can't wait to meet more Black folks who run.
DeWayne from VA - I read Tony's article about his Africa Marathon
- I was inspired! Plus we have the same last name so I'm already
claiming we're family:)
Evelyn from VA - It is so nice to see that there are other Black
long distance runners. Sometimes, I feel like I am the only one. I
am the only one in my training team.
It is very nice to see that you do have the support system
with organizations like this one.
Keep up the good work!
Marion
from VA - Thank you for a dream that I have is to motivate African
Americans to exercise and stay fit. We have very few that seem to
take fitness over fast foods and booze. I am thrilled that you all
have started this effort.
Michele from VA - I just learned about this organization while
reading an article in Runner's World on-line. This is great. I'm
really excited to know you exist and I'm signing on immediately.
Rob from VA - I think what you're doing is a very good idea. It
would be nice to see more people of color at some of the races I
run.
Jay from VI - Thanks for creating this organization!
Joan from WA - I am soooo happy to know that this organization
exists! A foot injury and surgery had me sidelined from running for
over a year, but now I'm back and I have slowly started training
again. Because of my foot injury, I've retired from running half
marathons (and I'm not too happy about it, especially after seeing
the gorgeous Lost Dutchman medal). However, if all goes well, I'll
be running the Lost Dutchman 10K and I might be able to convince my
brother and a couple others to join me!
Raymond - I just wanted to say that I enjoy the website.
I look at it on occasion. I just want to express how much I
enjoy running and I really love having a website I can go to so I
can read about Black long distance runners. I would love to
eventually participate in a marathon in which a lot of my fellow
Black runners congregate. Please keep on keeping on with the
website, I will be reading.
